Music Nova Scotia - 2009 Bell Aliant Entertainer of the Year
Bruce Guthro and Jimmy Flynn will host the Music Nova Scotia Gala Awards Show in Yarmouth during Molson Canadian Nova Scotia Music Week, November 5-8.
A wide range of talented Nova Scotia artists will perform on the show including Brian Borcherdt, Joel Plaskett, Classified, Grand Dérangement, In-Flight Safety, The Tom Fun Orchestra, Charlie A'Court, Dave Carroll, winners of the underage Yarmouth Exhibition Battle of the Bands The Holdup and Cape Breton fiddlers Dawn and Margie Beaton, Anna Ludlow, Colin Grant, Chrissy Crowley and Gillian Boucher, making the 2009 production the largest in thirteen years of music week festivities.
Music Nova Scotia is a non-profit organization that has worked since 1989 to foster, develop and promote the full potential of the music industry of Nova Scotia.

Joel Plaskett
Plaskett has toured extensively both solo and with The Emergency, to sold-out clubs and theatres throughout Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and Australia. 'Nowhere With You' landed Plaskett on the Top 10 at hot Adult Contemporary (AC) radio and garnered three 2007 East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs) of the year wins: Single for 'Nowhere With You', DVD for Make A Little Noise, and Songwriter.

Christina Martin
"Two Hearts" opens Martin&&39;s sophomore album that won her the 2009 ECMA Pop Recording of the Year and two 2008 Music Nova Scotia Awards: Female Artist Recording of the Year & Pop/Rock Artist/Group Recording of The Year. In 1999, Martin left for Austin, TX and within months she was performing alongside acts such as Wilco and singing backup as part of the retro-rock outfit Young Heart Attack.
